Srushti began preparing for the UPSC examination in her third year in engineering. She questioned whether engineering was the right career for her. In the following years, she realized that the dream of her was to work in civil service and decided to pursue it. The parents urged her to become an official in the civil service and to pursue an employment in the public sector. She did not lose motivation as she remained focused on her goal to become an IAS. In order to be a candidate for UPSC, you have to do more. She used to study the engineering subjects and then prepare for UPSC while also studying other disciplines. The preparation for the exam was carried out daily. Within just one and a quarter months, she passed her engineering exams, and avoided all contact with people. She believes that focusing solely on what needs to be done is essential to pass this exam. Her efforts were arduous to attain her dream of passing the exam at first try. Each day, she was reading the newspaper to keep abreast of current affairs. Also, she got lots of help online, by accumulating studies materials and watching Rajya Sabha TV.
